Headstart provides supports to assist you re-develop and refine skills

so you can live independently after your stroke or brain injury. Our staff are recruited for their compassion and are trained to provide stable and reliable supports and create a supportive environment for a person dealing with memory or cognitive issues as well as physical.

They also learn about various types of brain Injury and stroke so that they remain flexible to each person’s individual needs and aims for the future.

Headstart supports include 24/7 attendant care or any part of the day that you require assistance to get on with your life.

Relearning life skills may involve assistance with:

  • Improving your numeracy, literacy and word finding skills

  • Meeting new people and developing social networks and friendships

  • Learning to cook and plan meals

  • Managing your health and wellbeing

  • Travel support to learn improved road safety and use public transport

  • Setting up a good system for memory skilling and strengthening cognition over time
