Are you looking for a casual role working within an energetic team supporting people with an Acquired Brain Injury to become more independent in their lives and local community? Headstart supports people with an ABI to pursue activities of choice in the community and re-develop independent life skills.

Your Role

We are looking for applicants to join us and provide quality support enabling people to live the life they choose. Our Community Support Workers work with our Consumers in their homes and in the community, providing flexible individualised services such as; in home support, life skills practice,  attendant care, community involvement activities either one to one or with a small circle of friends,  social, leisure and recreational connections.

Salary and Benefits
• Flexible work hours; day, evening, overnight and weekends. Varying shift lengths.
• Casual salary: ordinary rate of $40.26 per hour + penalty rates

About You

You do not need previous experience to apply for this role; we will coach you.

We are seeking motivated people who are innovative and flexible in their approaches to reducing the barriers to community life that are experienced by people with an ABI. Your role is critical in the long term community inclusion of people with an ABI.

Essential criteria for this exciting role: 
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and team skills
• Ability to work autonomously
• Commitment to consumer driven services
• Knowledge of community resources
• Driver’s licence and access to a reliable, well-presented vehicle with comprehensive insurance cover and willingness to drive a service vehicle
• Current Working with Children Check and a NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Current Provide First Aid certificate HLTAID011 (or willingness to obtain)
• Proof of your Right to Work in Australia
• Completion certificate for the NDIS Worker Orientation Module accessible here 
• Completion of a vocational qualification in disability or community services OR completion of the New Worker – NDIS Induction Module accessible here
